Tri-Tech Air Conditioning & Electrical was established on 11 September 1989 by three technicians, hence the name of the business, TRI – Tech. Two of the three founders, Steven Smart and Michael Muscat, both bringing more than 35 years of hands-on experience in the air conditioning and electrical industries.
The business began modestly, operating from a small office built within the top floor of a warehouse in Fortitude Valley.
In its early years, the company’s core focus was on service, maintenance, and breakdown support. Tri-Tech also partnered with other air conditioning providers, subcontracting installation work and steadily building a reputation for reliability and technical expertise.
In 1991, Tri-Tech was approached by Mitsubishi Electric to join its national dealer network—an important milestone that strengthened the company’s position in the market and aligned it with one of the industry’s leading brands.
As the business grew, Tri-Tech relocated from Fortitude Valley to Coorparoo in May 2000.
The company continued to evolve over the following years, becoming a dealer for Daikin around 2015 further expanding its product offering and technical capabilities.
In 2013, Jayden Smart joined Tri-Tech as Project Manager. In 2016, the company relocated to its current premises in Morningside to support its continued growth.
Following Michael Muscat’s retirement in mid-2018, Jayden Smart was appointed Director, stepping into a leadership role and continuing the family legacy. Since then, he has played a key role in driving innovation and strengthening Tri-Tech’s position as a leading air conditioning specialist in Brisbane.
Based in Brisbane for more than three decades, Tri-Tech has built an honest reputation for delivering all types of reliable air conditioning solutions.
